From the recording Romance & Dance
Frederic Chopin (1810-1849) was a Polish pianist and composer. His compositions were primarily (but not exclusively) for solo piano and include many mazurkas, variations, nocturnes, etudes, waltzes, ballades, impromptus, polonaises, scherzos, preludes, sonatas, and other pieces. Each of his 24 piano preludes was intended for us (as one is used on this album) as an introduction for another work in the same key. Some of them are quite accessible for the intermediate to early advanced piano student. The waltzes in a minor and B-Flat Major on this album are accessible and quite charming.
